It's true, Kevin returns to Jordan in 2008

Hello interested pals!

I have the good fortune to announce that I was hired as the U.S. Program Coordinator for JET 2008.

Some current information:

The Jordan Education Trust

Mission
Jordan Education Trust (JET) was formed for the purpose of fostering positive economic growth in Jordan and positive U.S./Jordan relations, by providing scholarships for citizens of Jordan to attend university or other educational facilities within the United States and then return to Jordan better prepared as leaders in education, industries and government. The primary emphasis is on assisting individuals who have demonstrated the desire and capability of being a leader in Jordan so that they can obtain education that will allow them, not only personally, to be productive members of Jordan's society but also permit them to nurture business and employment opportunities for all citizens of Jordan.

In line with this mission, JET will fund the 2008 Teacher Exchange Summer Program.

The JET 2008 Summer Program

During the summer of 2008 five (5) candidates of The Queen Rania Award for Excellence in Education will travel to the United States to learn about different teaching techniques, participate in a Master’s program, find out about the latest discoveries in child education and experience the Northwest. University of Washington (UW) will also be awarding five (5) of their alumni teachers scholarships to travel to Jordan in the late summer to learn about the Jordanian educational system.

The program will consist of three parts:
• Participation in a customized program at the University of Washington focusing on the progress being made in the study of educational development and the environments’ relation to teaching.
• Conducting seminars in Jordan to share what they have learned from their experiences.
• Presenting their schools and educational system to the visiting UW teachers.

I have the incredible opportunity to continue my association with this organization as the program coordinator for the Seattle 2008 portion. 2007 was a genuine gift experience and I commit to capitalize on our successes and develop / improve other areas.

Further, I commit to building stronger relationships and deeper communication opportunities for involved participants.

I welcome your observations along this journey and appreciate your feedback, commentary and karma wishes.
